Company Overview:
Sagan is an exclusive membership community for top executives, founders, and CEOs seeking to hire and maximize the impact of international talent. We bridge the gap between global talent and US-based businesses, connecting candidates from vibrant regions like Latin America, the Philippines, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Africa with leading American companies. Sagan provides a high-performance remote work environment, ensuring access to world-class opportunities for top-tier professionals.
Position Overview:
We’re looking for a Junior GIS Analyst to support a US-based land services team with day-to-day GIS production work. You’ll build and edit maps, digitize property boundaries, georeference images, create and maintain shapefiles, and manage geodatabases using ArcGIS Pro. You won’t be working in isolation. You’ll have a team around you for guidance and support. That said, strong ArcGIS fundamentals and the ability to work accurately at volume are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Digitize parcel boundaries, easements, and property features in ArcGIS Pro.
• Georeference scanned images, old plat maps, and survey documents into GIS layers.
• Create and maintain shapefiles, feature classes, and geodatabases with consistent data standards.
• Integrate survey data with tax parcel records to support land management decisions.
• Read legal property descriptions and older/handwritten land documents (including cursive) to extract boundary information for mapping.
• Prepare and present map-based research data to support the land team.
• Perform attribute table editing, spatial analysis, and data validation before delivery.
Qualifications:
• 1-3 years of hands-on GIS experience (cadastral, parcel mapping, infrastructure, environmental, or similar).
• Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro. ArcMap experience is a strong plus.
• Experience digitizing, georeferencing, creating shapefiles, and managing geodatabases.
• Comfortable reading property descriptions or land documents to extract boundary data.
• Detail-oriented with high accuracy across multiple concurrent tasks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data validation and attribute management.
• Self-directed and organized working remotely with minimal daily supervision.
• Strong written English.
Nice to Haves:
• ArcGIS Online experience.
• Python (ArcPy) or SQL for data manipulation and automation.
• Background in cadastral mapping, land tenure, or parcel-based GIS work.
• Exposure to ROW mapping, infrastructure mapping, or land use/land cover analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Geospatial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
Resume Submission Guidelines:
