Accounting Team Lead

Job Title: Accounting Team Lead Location: Remote (LATAM preferred) Compensation: 3000 USD/month Work Schedule: Monday to Friday; 8 AM – 5 PM (US Pacific / Mountain business hours) NOTE: INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR POSITION About the Company: Sagan represents a US-based remote accounting and CFO advisory firm dedicated to helping growing businesses stay financially sound. Our team manages end-to-end bookkeeping operations—including reconciliations, AP/AR, payroll support, month-end close, and financial reporting. We value continuous improvement, proactive excellence, and servant leadership. Position Overview: As an Accounting Team Lead, you will oversee a dedicated bookkeeping pod to ensure high accuracy, timely deliverables, and team development. In this role, you will set daily priorities, review bookkeeping entries, coach team members, and act as the first line of defense in identifying and escalating accounting or workflow risks to management. Qualifications: • 3+ years of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience, including reconciliations, month-end close, and reporting. • Proven proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO). • Advanced working knowledge of Google Sheets and Excel. • Ability to guide teammates, give clear constructive feedback, and hold team members accountable. • Excellent organizational skills to balance multiple client deadlines simultaneously. • Strong written and spoken English communication skills. Nice-to-Haves: • Direct experience mentoring or leading accounting colleagues. • Experience with accounting and management tools like Keeper (Double), Bill.com, Dext, or Gusto.
